Book Recommendations
Simply put, The Essential Guide to Raising Complex Kids is a superb book. Kids can be so complex, but this book teaches parents how to deal with the complexities in a simple and understandable way–which will be effective! Parents who read this book will be able to deal with their kids in a way that generates much less anger (on both sides) and much better connections with their kids. I particularly liked the section, “is it naughty or is it neurological,” which is a question many of my patients have asked me. The Impact Model presented in Section 2 takes you all the way from “Where Do I Start,” to practical tips for success all the way to the finish line. The book is also very well presented with crisp, clear illustrations, and important points highlighted in boxes and at the end of chapters. Even if you don’t like to read, you can and should read THIS book! I am definitely happy to recommend it!
